GEOCLOCK (TM) 5.0, 93/03/26, (C) 1993 Joseph R Ahlgren, BBS 703-241-7980
The main changes in 5.0 over 4.5 is the addition of mouse functions and
a comprehensive set of VGA maps.
The basic map set with registration consists of over 40 maps covering the
whole earth. In addition, there are four supplemental maps sets covering
North America, Europe, South America and Africa, and Middle East / Asia /
Pacific, in great detail. Over 200 maps are available. All the maps have
the latest changes, including the division of the former Czechoslovakia.
A greatly improved setup program is included, customizes GeoClock for both
your location (by picking from a list of over 3400 cities) and your
hardware.
The new mouse functions are:
1. A function icon bar is displayed on the screen. The icon bar can be
toggled on and off by pressing the ALT key, or by moving the cursor off
screen.
2. Pressing the left mouse button anywhere on the screen (other than the
icon bar) zooms down to the most detailed map containing that point.
3. Pressing the right mouse button, or clicking on the zoom-up icon, zooms
up to the next highest map.
4. Time set and rate of time passage can be activated from the icon bar.
5. The icon bar version of distance uses two points rather than three.
6. The grid icon toggles on and off the display of automatic lat/long lines.
7. Help can be activated from the icon bar.
8. The reset icon resets time and time rate.
9. ESC no longer quits - Q or the icon must be used.
10. The Country/City icon toggles between city and country display (at least
by convention).
